Y Soft Corporation is pleased to announce the acquisition of Equitrac Systems of Australia.

Despite the similarity in name between Equitrac Systems and the Equitrac products offered by Nuance, there is no financial link between the two companies. Equitrac Systems of Australia was a distributor of rival products, and will be rebranded as Y Soft Australia in the coming period.

“This acquisition presents us with an interesting opportunity to quickly expand our team in the APAC region. This will allow us to maintain a consistent level of quality for the services we offer, despite the significant increase in customers and sales opportunities that we have gained in this region over the past year,” said Vaclav Muchna, CEO of Y Soft Corporation. “We are currently working on integrating the new company into our global organizational structure.”

Until now, Equitrac Systems of Australia was Y Soft Corporation’s competitor in the distribution of print management solutions in Australia. Y Soft is to acquire 100% of the shares of Equitrac Systems of Australia. Y Soft Corporation’s sales revenues for the previous fiscal year were more than 23.5 million USD, and those of Equitrac Systems of Australia totaled more than 9.9 million USD.

The acquisition will mean changes to the former Equitrac Systems of Australia and its customers. As Muchna said, “We’ll start the process by renaming the company, which will now be known as Y Soft Australia. It will be dedicated to the sales, support, and distribution of its parent company’s products, specifically the print systems management solution, YSoft SafeQ, which helps companies reduce costs, improve user convenience, and enhance security. We will offer existing customers the opportunity to switch over to YSoft SafeQ products free of charge and provide assistance with installation either right away or in the near future. Terms for providing support to customers who wish to stay with their current products will be negotiated with Nuance, producer of the Equitrac solution.”

“It is with the utmost delight that my team and I join Y Soft“ said Phil Heafey, the founder of Equitrac Systems of Australia. “With over 12 years of experience in the output management and cost recover industry, our small team has outperformed many organisations with more manpower and resources as we have focussed on understanding market needs, then delivering to them what it needs.  Now we are teamed with Y Soft, with a global labour force, industry  leading R&D and a management team that is highly skilled, motivated and entrepreneurial,  I anticipate Y Soft will become the global leader in the not too distant future.”

Milan Fujita, who is responsible for the Asia-Pacific region in Y Soft Corporation’s top-level management team, adds: “Last year we pre-negotiated a number of new deals across the region. Training new staff at an adequate rate is very complex and time consuming, but thanks to this acquisition we have boosted our team with ten people who have long-term experience in our particular field. We hope that this will be received as a positive signal by all our customers, and by our partners in particular.”

Konica Minolta´s increased bizhub C654e/ C754e to maximise efficiency

Always being one step ahead – this is Konica Minolta’s approach. With the further enhancement of their high end office colour MFPs bizhub C654e and bizhub C754e, Konica Minolta sets new standards: Although both predecessor models, bizhub C654 and C754, have already received the highest award for their performance and usability by BLI at the Summer “Pick” 2012 – Outstanding Achievement Award, both devices underwent further enhancements to boost their productivity. The new bizhub C654e and C754e will maximise efficiency and productivity while minimising expenditures at corporate environments. With output speeds between 60 (colour) and 65 / 75 (black and white) pages per minute, both devices are perfect for large departments, centralised office locations and CRDs.

Langenhagen/Germany, 11th of July 2013

While performance and productivity of the predecessors are already exceptional, Konica Minolta’s intention was to enhance the overall workflow performance of the bizhub C654e and C754e by simplifying usability. Therefore, the user panel, which was awarded with the BLI Summer “Pick” Award in 2012 for “Outstanding Achievement in Control Panel Design”, received further enhancements to increase intuitive handling. In addition to the already exiting multitouch features, which are similar to those of smartphones or tablet PCs, Konica Minolta added features such as “pinch in pinch out”, which enables the user easily to zoom into documents for content check or to read information on internal and external websites. Moreover, a drag and drop feature was implemented to simplify the moving of MFP-stored documents to the required function, e.g., printing, copying, sending or even changing the overall page order. Thanks to the rotate feature, scanned documents can be even reversed.

Regarding the customisation features, users already benefit from the standard possibilities of the predecessors. But now, Konica Minolta is even able to redesign the user interface of the panel to suit the customer’s individual requirements and work routines. This panel customisation is as flexible as a webpage which let even very brand-aware companies benefit from the customisation service adapting the whole design and user experience in order to optimise time spending in front of the MFP.

Another focus of the enhancement was the possibility to enable the user to operate in a suitable and convenient way without the requirements of any manual steps. Therefore, new feature options of the bizhub C654e and C754e have been added to a list of available functionalities. With the latest i-Options, which make manual steps unnecessary, users can directly scan into searchable documents such as docx, pptx, xlsx and pdf, directly print e-mail attachments or receive incoming faxes already text scanned as searchable PDF files. This allows for further conversion without using any PC after the scan is completed.

Konica Minoltas enhanced devices address the requirements of the customer, and seek to relieve him or her from IT administration: With the latest internal application platform IWS, the bizhub C654e and C754e will be enabled to scan documents to and print documents from external sources by the bizhub connectors for Sharepoint™, Google Apps™ and Evernote™. Furthermore, the new devices can now be bound into Cortado ThinPrint environments. The bizhub C654e and C754e are designed for printing formats from A6 to SRA 3 as well as customised paper sizes and banner papers with a maximum size of 1.200 x 297mm. Both are able to handle paperweights of 52-300gsm and combine a wide range of finishing functions – such as stapling, punching, half- and letter-fold as well as booklet creation. Thanks to their flexibility, both devices offer high values for their prices and ensure that the investment will pay off for the customer.

“The performance of multifunctional products is often judged only by their specification such as printed pages per minute or seconds to the first print. However, performance is always interplay of the device and the user. That’s why Konica Minolta focused on improving intuitive usability, optimising hardware and user performance for the customer. All under the policy ‘Know one – operate Many’, meaning identical usability throughout the KM line up”, comments Lars Moderow, Team Manager Office Group at Konica Minolta Business Solution Europe GmbH.
